Altered Spice Jars and BLOG CANDY!!!

As a treat to myself I bough a wire cake stand from Argos yesterday. I felt I deserved it after doing so much sorting a tidying this week *wink*. I had bought a new spice rack to tidy up kitchen area and had spice jars left over that I want to put small craft bits into. They were crying out to be altered, so I stuck flowers and ribbon onto the lids so that when they're in the stand it looks like a posie of flowers.

Ingredients: Empty spice jars, glye gun, assorted fabric flowers from stash bought from general stores and charity shops, buttons, ribbon and emboidery thread.

And as a treat to you, leave a comment on this post telling me your ideas for what I should store in the jars and I will enter your name in the draw for the jar below. Not only will you win the jar, but tell me your favourite colour or colours and I'll fill it with candy such as ribbons, fibres, button and anything else that takes my fancy! So get your thinking caps on and post me a comment. International bloggers welcome!

Ooo decisions, decisions, I would b tempted to keep sneaky treats in there for when I get hungry crafting! Or put primas or other small flowers so you have flower jar.

I would use the jars for Eyelets, brads, and buttons. I'm glad you're giving one away cuz they are so cute. And pink...in any shade is my favorite!

Those are so pretty! I would put brads or eyelets or buttons. For Pink flower put in pink buttons. Blue for blue etc.

This is just to cute.
What to use these cute jars for...um...um...PRISM Flowers, eyelets, buttons, brads, safety pins, beads. Of course I would have to save one or two for when you need that little snack to be able to go on having fun, like chocolate covered raisins or maybe one for a healthy treat. Thanks for a chance.

Cute idea! I think your little jars would be perfect for buttons (coordinated with the flower of course), leftover pieces of ribbon, giant brads & the essential CHOCOLATE!!!

Thanks for the invitation :0
Hmmm, Just trying to think of something to go in the little treasures!
You could store some of those 'words to go' word strips in them! Maybe also cute paper clips and small jewellery tags!
Ummm fave colours would have to be all the neutrals. i.e browns etc

Blessings!

I'd fill them with primas, ribbons, and of course your favorite candy to snack on. Whats the significants of your Lucy, are you a fan? Both my younger sisters call me Lucy because I was so bossy and they even think I used to look like her:)

I would store embellishments by colour in the jars! So one filled with pink, one filled with yellow, etc.. adorable jars!!

the top jar would have to hold something tart like those heart candies with the phrases on them. the other jars-eyelets for sure in one and buttons in another. brads in one and maybe if large enough, those eye like ink pads.

How cleaver! I would store all those little embelishments that we all have hanging around, such as eyelets, brads and buttons. Pink is my favorite color. Thanks for sharing!

i would fill the jars with one particular colour (say green) of all embellishments (that will fit in of course) lots of brads, buttons, ribbons, flowers, fibres and so the list can go on and on and on...
Good Luck x

Too cute display!! Those little jars are perfect for all the "pretty" embellishments, because you can see them and that will just add to the display. Jewels, fun buttons, shaped brads & eyelets, flowers, I'd fill 'em up with all that!

I'm a pink girl, but I love color, so I'm happy with any!!

Love your blog!!

Lovely jars:)

I'm probably to late but thought I'd write anyway:)

I love jars because they can be used to store anything that fits. Depending on the size you can store food items like colourful pasta, candy, cookies, nuts and spices.

Or you can use it for dried flowers. Marbels and other decorational items.

Its perfect to store craft supplies. Ribbons, eyelets, buttons, fibers, flowers.

I would end up storing either chocolate or colourful craft supplies in such a jar. Its made to be filled with one of the two:)

If I am not too late then my favorite colour combo is red & black but I like pretty much all colours.

Hey Ruthy, I'd put little gems (like the ones you use on dragonfly wings), little left over punch outs, pigment powders that I've seen used at the craft fair, buttons, prima flowers, little end bits of lace and ribbon and of course a secret tash of pear drops or some thing sweet!
